About Tandana Place
Tandana Place is located in the eastern region of Melbourne but is available to young people from all over Victoria. Tandana, meaning a new path, was established by Waverley Emergency Adolescent Care (WEAC) who recognised that there was a service gap for young people after withdrawal from drugs, which required a structured residential program.
In December 1998 the Lions Club of Waverley bought our first property and Tandana Place was established. A fundraising campaign continued through to our opening in August 1999. WEAC and Tandana Place acknowledge the decade of support that the Lions Club of Waverley have given to us. Tandana place would not be possible without the tireless support they have given.
Tandana Place aims to empower young people to manage their lives in health-enhancing manner, which includes their physical, psychological, emotional and social well being. A professional multi-disciplinary team of full time staff and casual staff provides intensive twenty-four hour support and care to young people and their families.
