About WEAC

WEAC is a community based, non-profit agency established in 1985 as a service for families with teenagers in Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. WEAC is a recognised by the Australian Taxation Office as a Public Benevolent Institution, and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient. This means all donations of $2 or more are a Tax Deduction. Please contact WEAC to discuss how you can help our programs.

WEAC provides a range of services including:

Accommodation

WEAC provides teenagers with emergency, short, medium and long term accommodation with trained voluntary family carers in the community. This enables teenagers to attend their own school or employment and maintain important contact with their family, friends and local networks. Where full residential family re-unification is not possible, WEAC assists with long term care.

WEAC is committed to strengthening families and equipping them with their own problem solving skills. The major aim of counselling and time-out accommodation is to provide a safe and stable base to begin the process of finding solutions, and if possible family re-unification.

Counselling, Family Therapy & Family Mediation Counselling

Counselling, family therapy and family mediation are a crucial part of any time-out period. Parent/s and teenager/s meet with trained and qualified counsellors on a regular basis to talk and begin to work through problems.

Family Support & Material Aid

Within the limitations of budgetary requirements, donations and financial obligations, WEAC may provide material aid to carer, teenagers and their families. Such aid includes clothing, food, household goods, school items, medical expenses etc.
